Site/Web • About the Site
How It Became
I first discovered Liam when I saw the movie “A Series of Unfortunate Events” in the cinema , when it first came out. I thought it was brilliant. I really, really liked him in that and seing him made me realise I had to find more out about this talented actor.
How I Got Into This
I have always liked making graphics and web design. Before Liam I had already made a site for Jeremy Sumpter and decided that I would also make one for Liam. Running two websites is hard going and my schedule stopped me for updating the site as often as I would have liked. So I closed my fan site and helped Chloe at LiamOnline.net. As time went on my schedule continued to be busy however so did Chloes and eventually the site started to get out dated but was still supporeted by its visitors so I took the reins.
What I Started Out With
I knew that I wanted to create a Liam Aiken fansite. My only problem was “What to name it?” I wanted something that said, “Yes, this is a Liam Aiken fansite!” so you would not have to guess. At last I came up with Liam Online! I had already made a layout for the site, and all it needed was the name. I typed it on there and it looked perfect. I knew this would work.
Advancments in the Proccess
Chloe first got the site hosted by Broken-Faith and moved the site onto there. We had over 2,000 hits and had regular vistors and donators. After a while the site was moved to Fan Street which is supportive and cheap for Fan Sites. Finally the the site moved again and is running on a Godaddy Virtual Dedicated Server.
One Year Anniversary
As I put it on the first anniversary: “I started it all by myself one year ago today, on a Freewebs site. Back then we only had a miniscule gallery, little information, and then some media & interactive things. Now the site hosts multiple networks including a gallery with over 1,000 photos, an active forum, a Twitter page. The site has come a long way. We have visitors from the U.K., Mexico, Italy, South America, Japan, the U.S. of A, Canada, & several other amazing places. Also, in the past year Liam has been on ‘Law & Order’, had one short interview, began a new movie, & has attended 4 events. I look forward to further expanding the site & getting more visitors.” Next on my site to do list? A whole new media subsite!
Still going….
It is now 2010, 3 years since opening the site and we are still going strong. The site has been re-vamped and brought back to life. I hope the site will continue to be supported by its fans for many years to come.
